Election Improvements

My personal opinion about the current state of elections is that they are pretty well off as they are. But yet there can still be room for improvement. One area I would think needs to be changed is during the primary season it should be easier to get on the ballot in every state, it should not be about how much money or signatures you need to poor in the state it should be about the ideas and views of the candidate but he should still get signatures to get on the ballot to show that he is a legit candidate; but yes money will still be involved just not as much. Another personal opinion I have is that they should find out who the two candidates are earlier than what they do so instead of Aug-Sept. it should be like June or May so that it gives the candidates more time to market themselves and it would not be so dang crazy come October early November. I thought of this idea coming from a citizen who gets very sick of a gazillion adds for the election, so by extending the amount of time opens more doors to space out your adds have a few debates and overall not make the election season so damn crazy. This idea goes along with another thought and it is almost in affect today and that is a price ceiling. Candidates should spend no more than 100 million dollars for there campaign, whether they get it from the gov or not. This is more than the 75 million the gov. would give you for the campaign but this cap will make the candidate be more precise and logical on how they advertise over the longer election time so instead of just one or two months they will have to advertise 4 to 5 months and this will make them budget the money better and in the end the candidate who can budget there money better should be able to come out and win the election and maybe even budget the economy better! So those are a few ideas I have on improving the elections.

Romney Polling Scheme

If I were Romney's adviser I would realize that we have the loyal republicans vote so we should focus on one group in particular to get the majority vote. I think that Romney should fight to get back the women majority vote because so many women voted for Obama in the last election. He could do so by pushing issues that pertain to women and get them to vote for him instead of Obama. Also he can try but not to hard to win some big cities like L.A. or New York because for the longest times those cities have been so dominated by the democratic party. But like a smart candidate he should also look out for the swing states like Ohio, Florida, or Pennsylvania. Because those states are very crucial in tight elections because those states can make or break a campaign. And lastly, like the big cites he should try but not try too hard to get some more college voters. He should have some workers go to big college towns like Madison, Ann Harbor, or Gainsville to try and get some fresh new voters. So if I were an adviser to Romney I would recommend these things for him to shoot for.

Budget Game Reaction

My opinion on the budget game is definitely a positive one because it did teach me on how some choices are so very difficult to make when balancing the budget and watching out for our debt. I can say with a strong belief that the job of a politician in this situation is a very hard and stressful job, because if you make the wrong decision the whole country will most likely hate you and want you kicked out of office. The game did also have plenty of the controversial topics that we face in todays budget like a new health care plan, eliminating the military, or cutting social security. Even if you were to cut any of those you would save close to trillions of dollars the general public would despise you greatly! But overall this game open eyes to arrogant teenagers or under educated adults with no knowledge on the government to see how it feels in the shoes of a politician

Political Parties

The Libertarian Party is the party in the middle of the spectrum and they agree with both conservative and liberal opinions.

-Republican Similarity #1: Military, since the right side is very pro military, the libertarians also agree that America should have a strong military.
-Republican Similarity #2: Guns, The Conservatives are famous for the 2nd amendment and wanting guns. The libertarians also agree that the government can not interfere with the right to keep and bear arms.

-Democrat Similarity #1: Fair Trade and Immigration: Liberals strongly agree with the fair trade policy and less protective immigration. Libertarians also agree with this belief but republicans want the opposite.
-Democrat Similarity #2: Abortion: this is a very controversial topic that democrats believe in pro-choice and so does the libertarian party.

In the end you can see that both parties share views with the Libertarians some are right and some are left but that's why the libertarian party is in the middle.
